The University's Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is comprised of students, staff, and faculty from the AHC and Boynton Health Service; it includes more than 1000 members.
OER is responsible for the recruitment, credentialing, training, and deployment of MRC members.
Since 2004, the University's MRC has aided in emergency response and public health initiatives on campus and the broader community.

To prepare for and respond to large scale campus, local, state, or national emergencies in a timely, efficient and effective manner and in so doing, provide unique educational and experiential opportunities for Academic Health Center students, staff and faculty.

- To provide the essential conduit for University health professionals and others (students, staff, and faculty) to efficiently volunteer their expertise during public health emergencies
All U of M Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) members must view the MRC Orientation Module. Topics covered in the 45 minute module include member roles in MRC deployments, member liability, the communication process for deployment notification, as well as other important information. Once the module has been viewed, members are asked to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org indicating they have completed the orientation requirement.
NOTE: Those MRC members who have attended a U of M MRC Orientation session in the past do not need to view the on-line version of the orientation.
