Fast Company has released their list of the world’s most innovative companies and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that innovation in health care is well represented.
Few fields can impact a population as broadly as health care, where innovation can lead to dramatic patient safety benefits and reductions in cost. The 10 companies making the list this year represent innovation taking place across the globe, in developing countries as well as industrialized nations with the most advanced health care systems in the world.
Some, such as Sproxil, have taken aim at counterfeit drugs while others, like Proteus Digital Health, have developed innovative new products that may change how physicians monitor drug effects on our bodies. There are also some familiar names on the list, like GE Healthcare and Walgreens, who have continued to reimagine how they can push innovation within the field they’ve occupied for decades.
