Rewarding Faculty Excellence

The Academic Health Center recognizes outstanding faculty in the areas of scientific research and educational scholarship through the Academies for Excellence. This distinction is given to individuals who attain the highest level of recognition by their peers.  Its members are elected to lifetime membership in one of two academies: the Academy for Excellence in Health Research or the Academy for Excellence in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. 

Up to 4 faculty are inducted annually into each academy. Recipients receive a recurring annual augmentation of $10,000 for five consecutive years and lifetime membership into the Academies.  The awards are presented annually in September at a recognition event.

The Office of the Vice President for Health Sciences is responsible for the administration of the 2012 Academies for Excellence.
