Research Focus
Henry Balfour, Jr., M.D., is internationally known for his leadership in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of viral diseases-- especially those caused by herpesviruses. He developed novel viral diagnostic tests, and his clinical research on antiviral drugs and vaccines has led to new treatments and better care for patients worldwide. His current research includes improving management of infectious mononucleosis.
