Research Focus

Diabetes expert Brian Fife and his team research the mechanisms that regulate the immune system during autoimmune disease such as Type 1 diabetes. Recently, Dr. Fife and his team generated a powerful treatment protocol to selectively target autoreactive cells. Using this type of approach allows Dr. Fife the ability to re-educate the immune system to selectively silence destructive immune responses. The goal of his research is to better understand these processes to generate novel therapeutic targets to selectively silence self-destructive T cells.
