Research Focus

As a rehabilitation physician, Dykstra’s research interests span the breadth of medical movement disorders. He studies painful and restricting conditions such as dystonia, spasticity due to stroke, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injury. He is also interested in standard and new uses of botulinum neurotoxins (Botox® and Myobloc™) for overactive muscle disorders and pain.
