Research Focus
Eric Newman and his team study Glial cells, which are cells in the brain that have many essential functions in the central nervous system and play a role in information processing. Specifically, his team investigates the interaction between glial cells, neurons, and blood vessels in the central nervous system. They also study how the cells become activated, how they signal and transmit information, and how they regulate blood flow in the retina.
