Research Focus
An accomplished researcher and clinician, Aaron Friedman was appointed vice president for health sciences and dean of the Medical School in January 2011.
A pediatric nephrologist and dedicated educator, Dr. Friedman has spent the majority of his career researching pediatric kidney disease. He's examined treatments aimed at preventing kidney failure in children with certain forms of kidney disease.
From 2008 - 2010 he served as the Ruben-Bentson Chair of Pediatrics and the Pediatrician-in-Chief of the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital -- a world-leader in pediatric kidney transplantation that has one of the best infant kidney transplant success rates in the world
