Research Focus
An internationally known nursing scholar, Jean Wyman has advanced the field of geriatric nursing. Her focus areas include fall prevention, exercise, and urinary incontinence in older adults. Wyman led research that found elderly women who participated in a fall-prevention program experienced significantly fewer falls and fractures than women enrolled in a general health education program. Through her NIH-funded research on behavioral, pharmacological, and surgical interventions for urinary incontinence, she also has transformed care and improved aging women's quality of life.
