Director of the Masonic Cancer Center, Douglas Yee is the point person for all cancer research at the University of Minnesota. He also treats patients with breast cancer and conducts research to improve cancer therapies. His research focuses on developing and testing new treatments for cancer. Currently Yee strives to understand the role of insulin-like growth factor (IGF) in stimulating cancer cells to multiply and spread. Approaches he’s testing to thwart IGF’s cancer-promoting activity show great promise for treating cancer.
