Carol Cardona, D.V.M., Ph.D., D.A.C.P.V., professor in avian health at the College of Veterinary Medicine, is an expert in surveillance for and detection of avian influenza in domestic poultry. She has worked with large and small poultry producers to develop detection and prevention strategies.
