Sometimes, Statistics Can Surprise You
The University of Minnesota provides nearly 70% of Minnesota’s health professionals.
Over the past four decades, the Academic Health Center has issued 31,000 degrees to students in its schools and this year, will graduate almost 1,000 health professionals. They’ll fill valuable nursing, primary care, veterinary, pharmaceutical and dental positions across Minnesota. A large number will practice in rural and underserved communities.
In fact, earlier this year, health policy researchers from George Washington University recognized the University of Minnesota for improving the health of families in our own communities. It’s a recognition we’re proud of, and a tradition that will continue.
Our graduates are driven to discover because there are countless health problems that still need solving. Because Minnesota demands world-class health professionals. And because complex diseases need groundbreaking treatments.
But, above all, because our communities need life changing ideas.
