Jeff Mandel, MD, MPH
Jeff Mandel, MD, MPH, is an associate professor in the School of Public Health's Division of Environmental Health Sciences. Dr. Mandel is an occupational physician and epidemiologist. He is an expert regarding the health issues of various environmental and workplace exposures. Dr. Mandel has served as an advisory committee member for the screening of vermiculite/asbestos-exposed people in Northeast Minneapolis. He has also served as a task force member for the screening of former Conwed workers with asbestos exposure. Both of these positions were held in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Health. Dr. Mandel’s research interests are occupational cancer risk from low-dose exposures, exposure to persistent materials and severity of chronic diseases and exposure-disease relationships.
