Mark Pereira, PhD, is a professor of Epidemiology and Community Health in the School of Public Health. Pereira’s current research interests include the role of dietary composition, as well as eating and physical activity patterns in the etiology, prevention, and treatment of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease throughout the lifespan. Pereira is available to discuss topics regarding diet or physical activity related to chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular diseases, sugar and artificially sweetened beverages, related policies and taxation, and his recent research involving sit-stand workstations to reduce sedentary time and improve health in office workers.
