Michael Osterholm PhD MP, is an internationally recognized infectious disease epidemiologist. He has led numerous investigations of infectious disease outbreaks around the world. His 2017 book Deadliest Enemy: Our War Against Killer Germs has received wide acclaim for providing a comprehensive framework for prioritizing efforts to prevent and control our most serious infectious diseases. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and Council on Foreign Relations. He was also chosen as one of five science envoys for the US Department of State for 2018-2019. He is frequent consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Department of Defense, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
