Drug Delivery & Design

University of Minnesota faculty across the health sciences are working together to develop the most advanced pharmaceuticals available today.

NaloxoneThe College of Pharmacy consistently ranks among the top three pharmacy schools in the nation. Through cutting-edge research at several centers and institutes within the school, students and faculty are working to meet the drug therapy needs for a wide variety of health conditions.

At the Center for Drug Design (CDD), researchers are dedicated to developing new drug therapies and medicines to benefit people locally and globally. The center has already developed therapeutics to combat HIV/AIDs (carbovir and abacavir).

Current research areas at CDD include the development of an anti-cyanide agent, a cosmetic compound that helps skin cells prevent or fight skin cancer, and pharmacological agents that slow the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.
